- DID (Direct Inward Dialing) explained
As its acronym tells: Direct Inward Dialing was originally used by Telecom providers is a telephone service with which subscribers can have calls within a system routed to an internal extension without operator or switchboard attendant.
Now BEEP11 offers you the ability to choose a number from A list of countries and have that call ring on your BEEP11 device anywhere you are.
- When does my account expire?
There is no expiry on your account credit and no monthly fees. You can choose the credit amount yourself. Payments are made by credit card or with recharge cards from a local BEEP11 distributor.
- What's the charge for using BEEP11 phone?
Compared to your regular phone bill, BEEP11 can make you save considerably on your long distance and international calls. One minute of talk time, from any BEEP11 phone to any BEEP11 phone is only 1.5c worldwide.

- How will I be billed?
All talk time is prepaid by recharging your IP account with recharge cards obtained from BEEP11 phone dealers or by credit card online.
- What is the advantage of using prepaid cards?
Users do not worry about surprises at the end of the month. You can budget your long-distance phone expenses. It is ideal for exchange students and tourists who, for example, want to monitor expenses.
- How is BEEP11 different from a conventional phone?
BEEP WebPhone looks and functions like a cell phone connected to your computer, while BEEP DEVICE allows you to connect any regular telephone device to it, such as a cordless phone, an answering machine or a fax machine.
The difference is that both BEEP11 products employ the Internet to send and receive calls.
- How is BEEP11 different from other Internet telephony?
BEEP11 has its own dedicated hardware that supports the BEEP11 network by ensuring reliable service and excellent performance. The system is virtually free from crashes, unlike other systems without hardware.
BEEP11 also offers full duplex capability, which means that users do not have to wait for one-another to sback to top talking before saying something. They can both talk at the same time, like in a normal telephone conversation.
- Is BEEP11 a call-back service?
No. There is no need to dial into a location and wait for a central office to call you back and give you a dial tone, like with call-back services. Simply connect your BEEP11 phone or adapter to the Internet and call your number directly.
- How is BEEP11 different from calls made with inexpensive calling cards found on the market?
Although calling cards use the Internet to connect your calls, the voice quality is often poor and calls are disconnected often. Calling cards are not able to store your personal phonebook. Often, the number of minutes advertised on these
cards does not reflect the true talk-time. Calling cards cannot support incoming calls, caller ID and a host of other features that BEEP11 offers.
- Is BEEP11's quality less than a regular telephone connection?
With a good Internet connection, BEEP11's quality can in many cases exceed the quality of a regular line, especially with international calls, where the quality suffers from delays and echoes. BEEP11 relies on an advanced fiber optic system to ensure a near-seamless connection.
- Can I use BEEP11 phone to call regular and cellular phones?
Yes. Our BEEP11 phone can be used to call regular and cellular phones and vice versa.
- Do I need broadband connection to use BEEP DEVICE and BEEP WebPhone?
Broadband connection is not a requirement for BEEP WebPhone, which works fine with dial-up connections. However, performance and quality do improve with higher bandwidth connections. BEEP DEVICE requires a broadband or network connection linked to the Internet.
- Do I need software to use BEEP11?

- How do I make an International call?
The BEEP11 phone dialing is the same as a regular phone. To call anywhere in the world, dial 00, the country code followed by the city code and the phone number.
- How can I speed up the connection when dialing out?
Hit the # key after the last dialed digit. For example when calling 345 6789 in New York, call: 00 1 212 345 6789#.
- What happens if I make a mistake when dialing a long number?
You do not have to hang up and start again. Simply press the * key or clear button on the phone set to backspace out the wrong numbers dialed.
- Why does my Call Forward not work?
In order for the call forwarding feature on your USB phone to work, you need to log off your account on the deskback to top client software. For BEEP DEVICE adapters, both the power and Ethernet cabling must be disconnected from the phone in order for the call forwarding feature to work.
It takes up to 3 minutes for the server to acknowledge that the device has been disconnected before the call forwarding feature can start working.
Also, note that the Call Forward number must be in the following format: 00+ country code + city code + telephone number.
- Are you Mac compatible?
Yes, BEEP11's Voice over IP service works with the Mac operating system.
- What is a Cable Modem?
A cable modem is a device designed to provide high-speed Internet access through existing cable television lines. If you have high-speed Internet access through your cable provider, the company will most likely provide this when your sign up.
- What is VOIP?
VoIP stands for Voice over IP or Voice over Internet Protocol. It is a new way of making and receiving phone calls through your high speed Internet connection (broadband). VOIP offers consumers the benefit of calling - locally and long distance - for less money, with high quality and
reliable connections and more features than many traditional phone service offerings.
- What is broadband?
Broadband is high-speed Internet access through a cable or DSL modem. It gives you a faster connection than traditional dial up Internet access that is switched on all the time. Broadband makes it possible to make and receive phone calls using Voice over IP through your high-speed Internet connection.
- How does the sound quality compare to my current phone?
You'll find the quality is at least as good as a cell phone, usually better! Because signals are transmitted and received digitally over the Internet, the quality of Voice over IP may very well exceed what you're currently getting.
- Why would I never have to change my phone number again?
The phone number that BEEP11 provides you with your BEEP11 Voice over IP service is yours as long as you are a BEEP11 customer. This number is portable, so if you move or travel and plug in your BEEP11 Voice over IP service, your phone number remains the same.
- When calling other parties, do they also need BEEP11 or another Voice Over IP service (VoIP)?
No. BEEP11 is a transparent technology, allowing you to use your phone just like you always have.
- Can I use BEEP11 when I travel?
Yes. You can use it anywhere there's a high-speed Internet connection. Just be sure to bring your BEEP11 phone adaptor with you and you can make Voice over IP calls with it. Note: Some office network environments may not be compatible with the BEEP11 adaptor.
- How can the Online Account Management help me?

- What is the running cost of subscribing to a DID number?
DID (Direct Inward Dialing) requires only a basic set up fee. Beyond that, there are no fees that you pay for receiving calls. If you DID number is in the same local area as the caller's number, than the caller is also calling you for free.
- Can I call toll free numbers?
You can call most toll free numbers in the US from anywhere in the world for free, and many toll free numbers in Canada (usually the ones that can normally be accessed from the US). You may also be able to call toll-free numbers in certain countries in Europe, but they will be charged at various rates.
- IP phone number
As in traditional phone system each subscription comes with a number. Here its the same, you will be provided with a seven digit number that will allow you to call and receive calls from the BEEP11 network.
Of course adding a DID will allow you allow to recieve calls from any phone in the world.
- What is the running cost of subscribing to a DID number?

- What is a PABX?
PABX (private automatic branch exchange) also known as PBX (private branch exchange) is a privately owned telecommunications system to allow a single access number to offer multiple lines to outside callers, and to allow internal staff to share a range of external lines.
- What is PSTN?
PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) it is the international telephone system based on copper wires carrying analog voice. This is in contrast to newer telephone networks base on digital technologies, such as ISDN and FDDI and VoIP.
